Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious disease caused by a type of bacteria that can be spread from person to person through the air. A person with TB disease spreads the bacteria to others by coughing, laughing, sneezing, or even by speaking. TB is most commonly spread to others in confined, poorly ventilated spaces.
Although anyone can be exposed to this disease, certain individuals are at higher risk for exposure, including health care professionals, the homeless, and people who were born in countries with high TB rates. Elderly people and individuals with HIV or AIDS are also more likely to get TB because their bodies are less able to fight off infections.
As with all serious illnesses, seek medical attention. The herbal remedies listed below are meant to assist in the treatment of TB, not cure it.
Here are some herbal treatments for Tuberculosis:
Combine 1 cup of honey, 1 cup of dried, steam-softened apricots, 1 cup of mashed aloe leaves, 1 cup of mashed unpeeled lemons, 5 fresh row eggs, 300 g of butter and 500 g of cognac. Take 1 tbsp of the mix every night before bed.
Combine 500 g of honey, 500 g of vodka, 500 g of butter, and 500 g of mashed aloe leaves and boil at very low heat for 45 min. During this time do not leave pen unattended; at the beginning of boiling process mixture in a pen is flammable because of evaporating alcohol. Let the mix cool down some, strain through cheesecloth and take 1 tbsp 30 min before meal for 1 month.
Combine 1 cup of 70º alcohol, 1 cup honey and 1 tbsp of birch buds. Place in dark bottle and let stand for 9 days, shaking the bottle every day. Take 1 tbsp 3 times a day.
Mix together equal parts of motherwort leaves and stems and chicory roots. Put 1 tbsp of mix in 1 cup of boiling water, steep for 10-15 min and drink 50 g 3 times a day for 2-3 months.
According to the Center for Disease Control, "People with active TB disease can be treated if they seek medical help. Even better, most people with latent TB infection can take medicine so that they will not develop active TB disease."
Use the herbal remedies above to supplement your health care, not substitute for it. As with all medical care, consult your doctor before using any home remedies, especially when other prescription medications are involved.
