Natural Treatment for Osteoporosis

If you are looking for osteoporosis treatment options, this page may be of help to you. Osteoporosis is a disease at which the calcium content of the bones decreases. It leaves bones thin and prone to easy breakage. Women are affected by the disorder more often than men. Men might face it at 70-80 years old when in women osteoporosis can start after 30. The exact causes of the disease are largely unknown.

One of the theories is that it results from a loss of estrogen, which affects the calcium content of the bones. Calcium loss may occur during pregnancy and breast feeding periods. Later in life, menopause contributes greatly to this process. It can also occur as a result of some other problems. A diet deficient in nutrients, especially calcium, may also contribute to the condition.

Here are some osteoporosis treatments that might help you.

According to the WomensHealth.gov website, "Being active really helps your bones by:

  1. slowing bone loss

  2. improving muscle strength

  3. helping your balance

Do weight-bearing physical activity, which is any activity in which your body works against gravity. There are so many things you can do: walk, dance, run, climb stairs, garden, do yoga or tai chi, jog, hike, play tennis, or lift weights?it all helps!"

As with all medical care, consult your doctor before using any home remedies, especially when other prescription medications are involved.
