Simple exercises designed to improve your vision

Improve eyesight with herbal remedies. Don't think that exercises for your eyes are something silly and unnecessary. As with each and every muscle in our body those exercises help keeping eye muscles in good working order.To preserve a good vision for as long as possible it is imperative to take good care of eyes each and every day.

Improve Eyesight Exercises for tired eyes.

Do these exercises at least once a day. This is especially true for people who spend considerable amount of time reading or working on a computer.

  1. Sitting down-keep eyes tightly shut for 3-5 sec, and then keep them open for the same time. Repeat 6-8 times. Exercise strengthens muscles of the eyelid, improves blood circulation and relaxes muscles of the eyes.


  2. Sitting down-blink rapidly during 1-2 min. Improves blood circulation.


  3. Standing up-look directly in front for 2-3 sec. Then lift a finger on distance of 25-30 cm. from eyes and look at a tip of a finger. Keep looking at it for 3-5 sec, then lower a hand. Repeat 10-12 times.


  4. Sitting down-close eyes and massage eyelids with your fingers by circular movements for 1 min. Relaxes eye muscles and improves blood circulation.


  5. Sitting down-press upper eyelids slightly with three fingers of each hand and hold for 1-2 sec. Repeat 3-4 times. Exercise improves circulation of an intraocular liquid.


Improve eyesight by strengthening eye muscles:

Shut your eyes tight and count to 5, then open and again count to 5.

Blink fast, counting to 10, squeeze eyes shut for 2-3 sec, then open them.Repeat 4-5 times.

Slowly roll your eyes from left to right 2 times then from right to left 2 times. Pause for couple of seconds. Repeat 2-4 times.

Fill a bowl with very cold water. Lower a face into the water for 25 seconds. Pick it up and wait for 30 sec, then again lover upper part of the face (eyes and forehead) into the water and open eyes for a few seconds. Repeat few times.

Yoga to Improve Eyesight

First 8 exercises are done while sitting down.

  1. Relax. Take slow, deep breaths through your nose and close your eyes. Gently massage closed eyelids with your palms in direction to and from the nose, while slowly exhaling. Hold your breath as long as possible. At the same time cover your face with your palms so no light comes in. Open your eyes and slowly inhale. While you are slowly exhaling open your palms like butterfly wings.


  2. Look straight in front of you. While slowly exhaling, move your eyes left as far as they can go and look down. Hold your breath and keep this position as long as possible. Take slow deep breaths and return your eyes to their normal position.


  3. Repeat exercise 2, but moving your eyes to the right.


  4. Repeat exercise 2, directing both your eyes to the tip of the nose.


  5. Repeat exercise 2, directing both your eyes to the place between your eye browses.


  6. Exhale and hold your breath. Rotate your eyes starting from left down, then left up, to the bridge of the nose, right up, right down and, finely, to the tip of the nose.Repeat as long as you are able to hold your breath.


  7. Do as explained above, but start from the right.


  8. Again massage the eyes with your palms in the direction to and from the nose.


  9. Standing up: take as much cold water in your mouth as you can hold. Bend over the sink and keep your eyes wide open. Throw handfuls of cold water into your eyes until water in your mouth gets warm. (During this procedure try not to blink. A few days might be needed to get used to it.) Spit the water from the mouth, dry the face and gently massage closed eyes.


As with all yoga exercises, the breathing pattern is very important. Each exercise is done once.
