  2. Lay you legs straight again. Move your top arm forward while moving your top leg back. Repeat with your other side.

Laying on the stomach:

  1. Arms are bent at elbows and placed in front of the chest. Straighten hands and bend your body back. Repeat 6 times.
  2. Legs are extended. Lift one straight extended leg up. Remain in that position for 20 sec. Repeat with other leg.

Laying on the back:

  2. Bend both legs at the knees. Repeatedly bring knees together and separate them, trying to reach the floor.
  3. Both legs are straight. Lift one leg a little and repeat circular movements at the hip 15-20 times first clockwise, then as many times counter-clockwise.
  4. Legs are straight; arms are behind your head. Lift up and lower legs alternately. Do not bend knees.
  5. Legs are bent at the knees, arms are bent at elbows. Leaning on your back and elbows, lift lower part of the torso 6 times.
  6. Legs are straight, arms are bending at elbows. Lift lower part of the torso, bending at the waist.
  7. Legs are straight on the floor. Lift up both legs a little and make “scissors.” Repeat as many times as possible.
  8. Legs in straight lines. Lift up left leg slightly, move it aside to the left and then put over right leg, making sure to keep it leveled with the other leg. Repeat with the right leg.
  9. Lift both legs to 90 degree positions. Keep them straight, do not bend. Then slowly separate them, and lower them to the floor, slowly bringing them together.
  10. Legs in a straight line. Bend one leg at the knee, clasp it with both hands and bring it up to your chin on a full exhalation. Stay in that position for 2-3 sec. Do not lift your head up.
  11. Keep legs straight on the floor. Slowly separate them, and lift them as high as you can. Then bend them and slowly lower them, all the while straightening them. All movements should be carried out slowly.

Herbal remedies for degenerative disk disease:

  • Dissolve 1 tbsp of honey in 1 cup of warm water, boiled twice. Drink in the morning and in the evening, 1 hour before bed. Continue for 1 month and take a break for 2 months. Later the treatment can be repeated according to state of health.


  • Boil 1 cup of oat grains in 1 L of water at low heat for 30-40 min. Filter and drink 1/2 cup 3 times a day before meal.


  • In 1 cup of boiling water put 1 tbsp of dry yarrow grass, wrap up and steep for 1 hour. Take 1 tbsp 3 times a day.


  • Steep 1 tbsp of tansy flowers in 1 cup of boiling water for 2 hours. Filter and drink 1 tbsp 3-4 times a day 20 min before meal.


  • Take a bottle and fill it up loosely with dry lilac flowers. Add vodka and keep in warm place for 10 days. Filter and take 30-40 drops 3 times a day and use for compresses.


  • Steep 300 g of knotweed grass in 5 L of boiling water for 2 hours. Filter and add to the bath water. Take a bath for 15-20 min. Treatment consists of 5-7 such bathes, taken every other day.


  • Combine equal parts of sweet flag roots and thyme (above ground part), crush and bring to a boil in 3 L of water. Steep for 3 hours and add to a bath water. Length of treatment is 10-12 times. This procedure supposed to be very effective.


  • Compresses for degenerative disk disease:

    • Wash few fresh cabbage leaves in cold water and place them over painful spots. Wrap up with warm cloth and keep on for 6-10 hours. Cabbage leaves help to reduce inflammation and pain.


    • Mix 50 g of aloe juice, 100 g of honey and 150 g of vodka. Let stand for 3-4 days. Use as compress. Repeat 8-10 times.


    • Summer remedy: collect fresh wormwood, wash and crush in a food processor. Then combine it with plane yogurt to make a pasty substance. Apply this paste to the spine where it hurts.

    Ointments for degenerative disk disease:

    • Mix together 1 part of crushed juniper needles and 6 parts of crushed laurel leaves. Combine this mix with 12 parts of fresh unsalted butter and use as ointment, rubbing it into hurting spots during the day.


    • Mix 1 tbsp of powdered hops and 1 tbsp of butter. Rub painful spots with the paste.


    • Combine 250 g of sunflower oil, 250 g of kerosene and 10 pods of red hot pepper. Keep in warm place for 10 days. Rub areas,affected by degenerative disks disease, before going to bed.


    • Take equal parts of egg whites, vinegar and turpentine. First, combine egg whites and vinegar and mix till thicken (about an hour). Then add small portions of turpentine and mix well. Apply ointment twice a day.

    As with all medical care, consult your doctor before using any home remedies, especially when other prescription medications are involved. Degenerative disk disease can be very serious. Find out all you can and take the necessary steps to ensure your good health.
