Decreasing Breast Milk

Natural Treatment for Decreasing Breast Milk

You have come to this page because you are interested in decreasing breast milk. Before delving into that, here is a little information about pregnancy and healthy nutrition.

The health of a child starts not from the moment it is born and not even from the moment it is conceived but much earlier, with the health of its parents. So, what should you do when you decide to have a baby?

It is believed that some changes must be made in the lifestyle of the future parents at least 3, or even better, 6 months before getting pregnant. The changes should include a well balanced and nutritious diet, physical activity, lots of fresh air and keeping away from smoking and alcohol.

During the first 3 months of pregnancy, when a fetus develops its major organs, the quality of food a mother gets plays an immense role. When the fetus does not get enough nutrients its normal development may slow down or even stop altogether, resulting in miscarriage.

To lessen the risks of this happening there is a list of foods that are good for the normal development of fetus and foods to stay away from.

Good for the baby:

  • Carbohydrates from unbleached flour
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Milk and milk products
  • Meat, fish, all sorts of beans, nuts and sunflower seeds
  • Fatty fish and vegetable oil

  • All kinds of soft cheese
  • Liver and liver products

  • Any medication unless prescribed by a doctor.
  • Cut down on caffeine, that can be found in tea, coffee and chocolate.

Breastfeeding is a wonderful process that has lots of benefits for the mother and child. It brings them closer together making the bond between them even stronger. Breast milk provides all the necessary ingredients for a baby’s healthy development. It is also good for the environment. Now more and more women choose breastfeeding over bottle feeding. It is nice to have a choice. Make the one that is right for you and your baby.

The amount of breast milk differs with every woman. Usually at a very early period after delivery (especially if it is your first baby) a deficiency of milk may exist. Also some women have so much milk they don’t know what to do with it. Both situations can be frustrating and inconvenient. Luckily there are natural remedies that can help in cases like that.
