Herbal Remedy for Cough

Are you looking for a cough remedy? You are in the right place, but first, some information... Serious respiratory illnesses like influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), whooping cough, and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) are spread by:

  1. Coughing or sneezing
  2. Unclean hands

According to the National Library of Medicine: "Coughing is a reflex that keeps your throat and airways clear. Although it can be annoying, coughing helps your body heal or protect itself. Coughs can be either acute or chronic. Acute coughs begin suddenly and usually last no more than 2 to 3 weeks. Acute coughs are the kind you most often get with a cold or flu. Chronic coughs last longer than 2 to 3 weeks."

Finding a cough remedy to relieve your symptoms is important. No one likes to feel miserable. Take a look at the different options below and find one that suits your needs and tastes.

To help stop the spread of germs:

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
  • Put your used tissue in the waste basket.
  • Clean your hands after coughing or sneezing
  • Wash with soap and water, or
  • Clean with alcohol-based hand cleaner.

Also, according to the NLM, "Water can help ease your cough – whether you drink it or add it to the air with a steamy shower or vaporizer. If you have a cold or the flu, antihistamines may work better than non-prescription cough medicines. Do not give non-prescription cough medicines to children under 14 years of age."

Hopefully, you found a cough remedy to alleviate your symptoms and assist you in returning to good health.
